When Orlando Magic General Manager Otis Smith finally got away from working the phones this summer, he vacationed at an exclusive Key West resort. Its rules required you to relax.
Its rules required you to relax.

You couldn't take your cell phone out of the room, Smith laughed.

A: The competition looks really good. I like it a lot. Love it. We didn't bring in a lot of guys by design. We could have made a deal in the summer to relieve some of that pressure at the 4 and the 2. But I didn't think it was necessary. You have to let things play out.

A:但是A.J.

Magic G-M Otis Smith

Orlando Magic General Manager Otis Smith talks about the Magic's pick of Courtney Lee from Western Kentucky during the NBA Draft at the RDV Sportsplex in Maitland. (Jacob Langston, Orlando Sentinel / June 26, 2008)

When Orlando Magic General Manager Otis Smith finally got away from working the phones this summer, he vacationed at an exclusive Key West resort. Its rules required you to relax.

You couldn't take your cell phone out of the room, Smith laughed.

Smith and the Magic officially head back to work Tuesday for the opening of training camp.

They are coming off their best season in a dozen years, having advanced to the second round of the playoffs after winning 52 games and the Southeast Division title.
The Sentinel sat down with Smith for a preview of 2008-09:

Q: This offseason you added two shooting guards (Mickael Pietrus and rookie Courtney Lee) and a backup point guard (Anthony Johnson). Eyeballing the roster, there are logjams at shooting guard with Pietrus, Keith Bogans, J.J Redick and Lee, as well as at power forward with Rashard Lewis, Tony Battie, Brian Cook and Marcin Gortat. Is this clutter or competition?

A: The competition looks really good. I like it a lot. Love it. We didn't bring in a lot of guys by design. We could have made a deal in the summer to relieve some of that pressure at the 4 and the 2. But I didn't think it was necessary. You have to let things play out.

Q: So you could have moved, say, Cook and either Bogans or Redick?

A: Some teams had interest in them, some teams had interest in Brian. It's hard for me to move guys that can have an impact on your team. We have to get some value back. It has to make some sense. And to me it doesn't make a whole lot of sense just so you can create space. We don't have to do something just to feel like we're . . . busy.

Q: Would you make a trade depending on how things play out in camp?

A: It's something you have to evaluate.

Q: The most dramatic changes have come at point guard. You did not re-sign Keyon Dooling or Carlos Arroyo, two veterans. Isn't it clearly Jameer Nelson's show now?

A: We had guys like Carlos and Keyon playing behind Jameer for a reason. . . . to kind of hold him up. I don't think we're at the point anymore. We're at the point where he should be comfortable as your starter.

Q: Are you OK then at point guard? Johnson is no spring chicken at 34.

A: But A.J.'s experienced. He's going to be a real good asset for our team. He'll push Jameer as hard as those other guys did.

Q: Who gives you what Dooling did off the bench?

A: We're going to miss Keyon in certain areas. He brought a level of energy to us every night. I think MP (Pietrus) has that same kind of energy. Other guys are going to have to step up and do other things.

Q: It's Year 5 for Dwight Howard. What do you expect from him?

A: He has to be better. Let's not kid ourselves: We're only going to be as good as he wants us to be. There's a level of consistency that he has to play at every night. He still has some maturing to do. He isn't a finished product yet.

Q: And what Q & A would be complete without the obligatory question about J.J.? Any plans to grant his trade request?

A: Not at this point. I like him. I think J.J. can help us. He's worked his tail off this summer. I think in the next 20, 30 days we'll see how things shake out.

Q: This is a group of players that hasn't experienced a lot of winning. How do these players they then build off last season and not become complacent?

A: I don't think any of our guys have that mentality, 'We're fine if we just coast.' I think they're all fighting for something.

Q: You've stressed having the right kind of guys 'who fit.' Does this season define that?

A: I think so. It will be a test of our character when you take a team that, at this point, has just been riding the wave, so to speak . . . that has not been expected to win. Now, all of a sudden, they are expected to win. I know we have the guys with the right characteristics.

Q: You had dinner with Dwight, Jameer and Rashard Lewis. What vibes did you pick up?

A: Their minds are in the right place. They started giving it back to me. It was amazing to sit and watch them saying that we hadn't done anything yet. There was a little bit of anger to them. . . . why they didn't achieve their goals last season.

[LYC]Beyond.

Beyond <<

[PC_LSN_No.1]What You Don't Know About MLK's 'Dream'

What You Don't Know About MLK's 'Dream'

We were standing at the Lincoln Memorial[Momoum] in the spot were doctor Martin Luther King made that speech that will become part of the fabric of our nation. Image this handful of Americans litarally rubbed shoulders with history they standing or[and] sitting near doctor King. we had a hard time to tracking them down and they had surprising[suprise] things to tell us.

Augest 28, 1963, the quarter[crowd] of a million gather at the Lincoln Memorial[Momoum] that day knew they had heard something momentous[MOmental]. 'I still have a dream, it's a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.' and he started speaking[to speak], and it was amazing. it was transfromed from a type of perhaps festival atmosphere to almost [the] religions I supposed. We couldn't hear thing dropped[You could be a T], I will never foget it, I will never forget it. Giama spent months[she has make a month to] tracking down those who stood[still] beside King as he spoke witnesses captured by the lens[L] of the history. Only a hanful are still alive. Gordon Gundrum than 25 years old was assigned to protect[the S protecting] that day. That's him standing in a[the] park ranger uniform. It was like a great symphony, even to try and[to] describe it today. The hair on the back of my neck stands[the Hero still in my next stands]. Gundrum says that moment with king opened his eyes to the civil rights movement. He shied away from interviews for[throught] decades but now want[once] the world remembered what king managered to do was just one speech. What he did that day I felt, was very close to god. When i think of doing good thing such as charity. I think that was the result of[that] the ideas [for] doctor king had[held].
For Charles Jackson, an New Jersey police officer, the assignment to stay and watch over[of] king when he spoke was a career highlight. He talked about [this] until his death in 1999. He said,"I almost trembled, and he said it's just magic." Civil rights[Supervice] leader doctor Dorothy Height[Jcy Hi] recalls being most struck[was C being B] by the king's ablity to unit both the crowd and the devided nation, with the speech that lasted just 15 minutes. "that we all felt as one through his talking[he was talking], not just about some, but about all." For Teresa Walker, a former freedom writer, it was king's reference to the dream he had for his four[poor] little children, that brought tears from her eyes.
"That i have a dream, My four[poor]little children, one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of thier character[the C of their C]."
"Well, it was my dream also, I have 4 children, [then] of couse every parent especial a mother want the world and the country to be as good as it can be. But I have no idea it was going to have the impact that it did have.[B. but i have an idea which B].

but imaging this, as we were research[searching] the story we learn something brand-new that never reported before, that I have a dream has almost cut from King's speech.
That I have a dream climax was never in the speech and we just thought it shouldn't be used. King has[is] giving the I have a dream speech some thirty times in a month leading up to the March Washington. And his chief of staff thought he need a new material. We felt that he use that climax so many times, it will be hackneyed and trite.
Doctor Wyatt T. walker and other stay up all night on the eve of the march crafting a[and even a much C] new dream free speech. But when king surveyed the crowd, he throwt out the new version deciding instead to talk about his dream. I was standing by the Washington Monument and when he said, "I have a dream today..." I said,"Oh, It should be deleted. " "What you were suggesting what if alter the history?" "It just shows how much we didn't know." And those who share that silver of[libery] history with king say it will be a profound moment of symmetry[symatry] when Barack Obama take the stage on the annirvesary of the speech that dare to dream about a candidacy like his[their to dream about.A cadedacy like he is].
"Well i think docotr king would[will] be the first to recognize that our country has moved forward. But i think it is providential."
"It just demostrates your dreams can come true."

Jordan or no Jordan, Olajuwon was great

Hakeem Olajuwon

Barry Gossage/Getty Images

With moves like this, Hakeem Olajuwon was unstoppable at times during his career.

Watching Vijay Singh snatch another PGA Tour victory in Tiger Woods' absence was a fitting way to start a week that ends with Hakeem Olajuwon's enshrinement in the Basketball Hall of Fame. Singh is the closest thing any other sport has to Olajuwon, the man who best took advantage of some down time by The Man.

From 1990 to 1997, every time Michael Jordan showed up for training camp, he wound up raising the Larry O'Brien trophy over his head at the end of the season. But the two times he didn't, Olajuwon swooped into the void. That's how Olajuwon earned the highest accolade you can give him, a tag much greater than "12-time All-Star" or "franchise's all-time scoring and rebounding leader." All that needs to be said for his career is this: The Houston Rockets don't have to apologize for taking him ahead of Jordan in the 1984 draft. Olajuwon won two championships and a Most Valuable Player award. It's everything you could ask for from a No. 1 overall pick, and he delivered.

To anticipate or envy Jordan's career and what it meant to the Bulls would be excessive. Don't be jealous of the guy driving the Ferrari in the next lane; just be glad you aren't riding the bus.

Olajuwon gave the city of Houston its first big league championship and granted the Rockets access to the most exclusive club in major pro sports. Since Olajuwon entered the league in 1984, only seven teams have won the NBA championship. In that time span there have been 16 World Series champions, 13 Super Bowl winners and 12 Stanley Cup champions.

The only question is, do we devalue Olajuwon's championships and MVP award because they came while Jordan missed one entire season and all but 17 games of the next during his first retirement? Not at all.

This is where Singh comes in. You'll notice that his three major victories -- the 1998 and 2004 PGA Championships and the 2000 Masters -- came when Tiger was retooling his swing and going through his two longest major droughts. So what does that make Singh? A three-time major champion. No asterisk affixed, no questions asked. And now that Woods is out after knee surgery, Singh is zeroing in on the funky FedEx Cup. It's an open range out there, but you don't see Phil Mickelson or Sergio Garcia padding their win totals.

The further we get from the events, the less we care about how they were won. Nearly a quarter century later, Mary Lou Retton is still an Olympic hero even though her 1984 gymnastics gold medal came amid an Eastern Bloc boycott, with nary a Nadia or Svetlana in sight.

The same goes for Olajuwon. They still held the NBA Finals in '94 and '95, with or without Jordan. The league didn't come to a halt. (For what it's worth, Olajuwon's 1995 team swept the Orlando Magic squad that took out Jordan and the Bulls).

There's a whole generation of players who had the misfortune of coming of age at the same time as Jordan. It was like hoping to win a Grammy the year "Thriller" came out. Jordan is personally responsible for denying championship rings to half the Dream Team. Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, Chris Mullin, John Stockton, Christian Laettner ... they all suffered at least one playoff loss at Jordan's hands.

But they all had an equal opportunity when Jordan was gone, and Olajuwon was the only won to cash in. He got his first ring at Ewing's expense, which makes Ewing's inclusion in this 2008 Hall of Fame class a little bit cruel. Ewing is the opposite of Olajuwon. He's the guy tormented the most and longest by Jordan, starting with the jumper that beat Georgetown and launched the Jordan legend in the 1982 NCAA championship game, and continuing through five NBA playoff meetings, all won by Jordan. (In the ultimate sign of can't-beat-'em-join-'em, Ewing wound up as an assistant coach with the Washington Wizards in Jordan's last year there and often walked around clad head-to-toe in Brand Jordan gear).

At some point during this weekend's ceremonies, Ewing will have to flash back to 1994. With Jordan finally out of the way, off playing Double-A baseball, Ewing had a clear shot at that elusive ring ... until Olajuwon blocked it. Olajuwon outscored Ewing 189-133 and outshot him 50 percent to 36 percent in a seven-game NBA Finals.

Ewing would never get as close to a championship as he did in that Game 7 defeat. It came just a couple of weeks after his greatest moment, when he followed up a missed shot by John Starks to send the Knicks past the Indiana Pacers and into the NBA Finals. Against Houston, there were just too many Starks misses, 16 of them in that last game, and not enough Ewing could do about it. Certainly not enough to overcome Olajuwon, the MVP of that series (and the next year's NBA Finals as well, after he thoroughly dismantled David Robinson in the conference finals).

Olajuwon distanced himself from his center contemporaries and put more hardware on the shelf than either Ewing or Robinson. More importantly, he separated himself from Jordan, emerging from the often-smothering silhouette that often blanketed the league. Jordan's collection is larger, but he has none of the most important items (rings, MVP awards or Olympic gold medals) that Olajuwon does not have as well.

The only missing element is an answer to what would have happened if they had met head-to-head in the NBA Finals. While that's something we want to know, Olajuwon doesn't need it. He has every bit of validation he needs.

Jordan or no Jordan, Olajuwon was great

Barry Gossage/Getty Images)

Zone Defense: Strip Malls with Actual Strippers

A guest post by Daryl Morey

For the second time ever, I have a guest blogger - and this one I did not have to sleep with as an inducement to post. My buddy Daryl has generously offered to write something for R World and I eagerly agreed. I've written about Daryl (in his first season as the Houston Rockets GM, the team put together the second longest winning streak in NBA history) and how much I enjoy him. Daryl is one person I never feel as though I have to slow down for when I'm engaged in conversation. He's quick, but he also loves big ideas, and he is not afraid to go deep or silly on any number of subjects. I'm delighted to share a little bit of him for you all here at R World. Enjoy!

As Ron has stated eloquently in his blog before (Rockets Win Again with Rookie GM), "I go where the data goes". This tendency, along with the fact that "I doubt the deep doubts" (Socrates) makes life a bit of an adventure as I might change a belief at any moment. To demonstrate my willingness to change, I will provide one recent anecdote.

First, a little background. I generally have libertarian views and believe the Guvment should basically only do roads, courts, police, the army, and tax externalities. Otherwise, stay out of our lives please.

When I moved to Houston, I was excited to hear they had no zoning. I was very curious to see how well this worked, independent folks finally able to make free choice in how to use land! Long story short, I have basically come to the conclusion that it does not work and the list of what Guvment should do is now reluctantly one longer.

Exhibit number one into evidence is probably this picture. This spot is about 4 miles from our house. The sex shop is apparent but what is not apparent is that the unlabeled building behind said shop is actually a Niemen Marcus that is connected to the most high end mall in the city. One stop shopping for sure!

Actually, it is not this particular arrangement that caused me to now support zoning, as I find it mostly humorous. What made me a supporter of zoning is the fact that nothing in Houston makes any logical sense and it contributes to a host of negative outcomes: longer commute times, confusion, and general waste of both public and private space.

Zone Defense:Strip Malls with Actual Strippers

A guest post by Daryl Morey

Written by Ron Davison

[HC TSL No.2]Notes: Ewing, Riley look back at Rockets

Notes: Ewing, Riley look back at Rockets
By JONATHAN FEIGEN Copyright 2008 Houston Chronicle
Sept. 5, 2008, 6:17PM

After many years and accomplishments, including taking a place in the Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday, former Knicks center Patrick Ewing and former Knicks coach Pat Riley still seemed to carry the disappointment of the 1994 NBA Finals loss to the Rockets.

"Really, I should have the college and NBA championship," said Ewing, who led Georgetown past Hakeem Olajuwon and the University of Houston to the NCAA championship. "All I can do is take my hat off to him. It was hard being in Houston (as a Rockets assistant coach) and sitting in the players lounge and seeing that damn shot and you guys (the media) rubbing it in my face, showing the replay."

Riley said he enjoyed watching the competition between Olajuwon and Ewing in that series. He said the difference might have been a Rockets rookie.

"It really bothers me," Riley said. "I always think I could have done something just a little bit more. I don't know what it was. We jumped out to a 15-7 lead in the first quarter in Game 6 and I thought our guys were ready. I go back and I always second guess myself on that series. When you get there, you got to win it. The team I had in 2006 (in Miami) had a little more awareness about the now.

"The biggest shot in that series was Sam Cassell's (the Game 3 game-winner). We went down (to Houston) ahead 3-2 and couldn't close it out. We did the same thing in Miami, went to Dallas 3-2 and closed it out in six. I said, `If we don't win it tonight, it's going to be hellbent for leather with Hakeem,' and that's what it turned out to be."

Land of the giants

The induction of Hakeem Olajuwon and Patrick Ewing to the Hall of Fame on Friday reminded observers of the era of the dominant big men and the relevant absence of players with their style now.

Olajuwon said traditional big men are not gone for good.

"It's a cycle," Olajuwon said. "Traditionally, the cycle comes every once in a while. We were lucky and blessed to have another big man. Now it will go back in the cycle where there is very, very few. That's why you see all the teams globally searching for anywhere they can find a true big man. It's always special to have a big man on the team that can play."

What's up, Hakeem?

Since his retirement, Hakeem Olajuwon has been living and studying in Jordan for much of the year and living in Houston each summer.

He has decided to reverse that schedule for reasons he was too busy to notice during his playing career. Apparently, it's hot in Houston in the summer.

"I think I want to change my program," Olajuwon said. "I always come in the summer. It's too hot in the summer. You would think it is so basic.

Now I think I'll come during the season, the wintertime, and go back (to Jordan) in the summer. I enjoy also coming to the games.

"It seems like it's so obvious. When I came in the spring, I was like 'Wow, the weather is so beautiful. I should be here in this time of the year.' "

Retirement: Part I

Hakeem Olajuwon looks as if he could still play and said he still works out on a basketball court to stay fit. His induction into the Hall of Fame, however, ends any temptation.

"I'm in the Hall of Fame now," he said, "so I have to keep retired."

Retirement: Part II

Though he has returned to coaching before, Pat Riley has said that his induction to the Hall of Fame will mark the end of his NBA coaching career. He remains the Miami Heat president and said Friday's ceremony mark a beginning of the next stage of his life.

"It's almost like a funeral," Riley said. "Getting into the Hall of Fame, everybody was like apologizing to me. 'Well, you're ending your coaching career.' I said, 'No, it's a beginning.'

"The Hall of Fame is the beginning of something else. I don't know what. Coaching might be behind me, but leading is not. It's a great country. America has given me this opportunity. I think there is something else out there."

[HC_TSL_No.1]Rockets retire ‘It’s Time’ to run with ‘Get Red’

Hoop China translation work No.2

Many things are learned from this joyful work, through Calorie is just a currency in Hoopchina. It's really a time-costing job, almost took me more than 8 hours to finish it. Many words sould refer to MW to find the acture meaning.
There are many mistakes in my first job, but this time, it sounds like better.

Greg Barr

Rockets retire ‘It’s Time’ to run with ‘Get Red’

Houston Business Journal – by Greg Barr Reporter

“红起来”(Get Red)将取代一年前的“It’s Time”.

“Get Red”与2007-2008赛季的“It’s Time”有鲜明的对比。

(Red-ification)

Adam Nisenson是Active Imagination(一家休斯敦的体育销售和品牌公司)的拥有者兼创意总监。

Rockets retire ‘It’s Time’ to run with ‘Get Red’

The Houston Rockets have drafted a fresh slogan for the new season. “Get Red” has been recruited to replace “It’s Time,” which is being retired after one year.

All things red stood out in a recently conducted brand awareness survey by the National Basketball Association team.

As a result, “Get Red” will be the rookie tagline this week when the Rockets roll out the marketing campaign for the 2008-2009 season. The campaign kicks off Sept. 7 with the first of a series of billboards depicting players melded with a Houston skyline or inside the Toyota Center, dominated by the team’s red uniform color.

Chris Dacey, vice president and chief strategy officer, says the Rockets chose the color theme to promote the team’s distinct brand, ties to the city and emphasize a lively atmosphere at home games.

“Get Red” is a stark contrast to the tagline used during the 2007-2008 season. “It’s Time” made a bold statement suggesting that the team was ready to be a serious playoff contender. Although the Rockets captivated fans during a 22-game winning streak — the second-longest in NBA history — the team was unceremoniously bounced by nemesis Utah Jazz in the first round of the post-season.

Says Dacey: “Any time you come out with a bold statement, it weighs on the perception of the team.”

Higher price expectations

While a sea of red flows through the stands, fans returning for this season will pay more for seats.

Many of the least expensive seats at $10 or $15 in the upper bowl area will be unchanged. So will some of the most expensive club seats at $350. The majority of the price hikes affect midrange seats. For example, the 4,274 seats in the lower bowl priced at either $58 or $70 will now cost $5 more, at $63 and $75, respectively.

With the off-season signing of Ron Artest and the high-profile showing of Rockets players Yao Ming and Luis Scola representing China and Argentina in the Beijing Olympics, the team reports surging season ticket sales — due to even higher expectations for this year’s on-court performance.

Officials say the Rockets are well ahead of last season’s 7,000 in season ticket sales, though they did not divulge the number. A more concrete indication of the team’s surge is the fact that only two of the team’s 91 upper-level suites are vacant at this point, according to Seliece Caldwell, the team’s vice president of ticket sales.

Caldwell says the team is also in the process of building out four new courtside suites previously used as the locker rooms for the Houston Comets women’s basketball team, which moved out of Toyota Center to play at Reliant Arena this year. The existing 14 courtside suites are also sold out for the 2008-2009 season.

The new suites — which sell in a range from $225,000 to $275,000 — include 12 courtside seats and a private bar and lounge.

‘Red-ification’

Dacey says the Rockets’ marketing department will be running a full-court press to hype the “Get Red” theme until the regular season home opener Oct. 29 against Memphis.

Houston players will wear their all-red road game uniforms on opening night to emphasize the point, and Toyota will hand out red Rockets T-shirts to fans — when the team also hopes to set a new Guinness World Records mark for the most people wearing face paint at a game.

More details inside Toyota Center will also be subject to what Dacey describes as a “red-ification” of branding, from the color of plastic drink cups to the color of the Toyota vehicles parked along the concourse.

“We’ll be using the ‘Get Red’ message for everything we do out in the community, and hope it’s reflected with an association with the brand,” says Dacey.

Adam Nisenson, owner and creative director of Active Imagination, a Houston sports marketing and branding firm, says it makes sense for the Rockets to move away from a marketing campaign that makes promises of success, as was the case last season.

“The key to a marketing campaign is that it should last the entire season whether a team is winning or losing,” Nisenson says. “In this city, the main thing is that a campaign has to cut through the clutter. The Rockets season overlaps with pro and college football and all those other entertainment options like the Theater District, so your messaging has to really hit your target audience at a gut level. You’re trying to connect with a fan outside the season-ticket base who might only come once or twice a year.”

'Porn mode' threatens Web ads

With just a few clicks you can now make sure that the computer you are surfing the web on (you surf is well born) has no trace of you activities. The feature known as InPrivate browsing is part of the test version of the Microsoft newest browser Internet Explorer 8. Once you’ve (When it is) activated InPrivate browsing, this’ll (all) appear here, and it means that(the) Internet Explorer will(would) be preventing from saving any data about your browsing session.

IE8 also introduces in-private blocking. This alerts users when third party sites (sides) are tracking browsing activity(activities). This is where(what) Google might be affected.

Banner ads are (Banner R) often displayed based on what Google and Yahoo think an user might be interested in(interesting) depending on the sites visited(site visiting). Blocking third parties(party) from(on) browsing activity could disrupt that business model(module).

When people are in InPrivate browsing and InPrivate blocking, they will be given a list of companies that and made(he may) aware of who else seeing the conversation. They can then opt(up) in or opt(up) out of that having those people continue to provide and stream new information and data onto those websites(B in this web site).

Microsoft controls around 70% of browser market, while Apple Safari already has the privacy feature and it also can be added to the popular Firefox 3 browser. A Google spokesman told CNN that it is too early to tell how the IE8 features work and what the impact on the search giant might be.

Microsoft says that are plenty of things that InPrivate browsers does not do, it does(is) not necessarily make you anonymous on the web so the site you visit can record your information. And if you are using a(the) network at the(in your) office, your IT apartment(department) still can see what you are up to while(or) you surf on a(the) company PC. Jim Bolden(Bone), CNN, London.

Memories before deleting

I collected all the files i wrote before, it's very interesting, I got the same feeling year by year, though i did grow day by day.

All these files once existed in other places have been deleted, just leaving a copy here. In fact, I lose the courage to remove them from my heart.

Monday, Working day, Birthday & Birthday [

Life and Branch [

No Matter What

No matter what they tell us,
No matter what they do,
No matter what they teach us,
What we believe is true.
No matter what they call us,
How ever they attack,
No matter where they take us,
We'll find our own way back.

I can't deny what I believe.
I can't be what I'm not.
I know I'll love forever,
I know no matter what.
If only tears were laughter,
If only night was day,
If only prayers were answered,
Then we would hear God say,
No matter what they tell you,
No matter what they do,
No matter what they teach you,
What you believe is true.

I will keep you safe and strong
And sheltered from the storm,
No matter where it's barren,
A dream is being born.
No matter who they follow,
No matter where they lead,
No matter how they judge us,
I'll be everything you need.

No matter if the sun don't shine
Or if the skies are blue,
No matter what the ending,
My life began with you.
I can't deny what I believe.
I can't be what I'm not.
I know this love's forever.
That's all that matters now,
No matter what.

2005/10/17

nevup

Summer's Day

Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's Day
-----William Shakespeare
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometimes too hot the eyes of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course, untrimmed:
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wanderest in his shade
When in eternal lines to time thou growest.
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

他那金彩的脸色也会被遮暗;
被时机或者自然的代谢所摧残;
你永远不会失去你美的仪态;
你将在不朽的诗中与时间同在;
